Hip, Hip, Hooray! I would like to thank whole heartedly, now, my cardiologist in New Hampshire, Dr. Dourdoufis at Portsmouth Hospital, and my cardiological team in Boston: Dr. Shafer, Dr. Mau, and my surgeon, Dr. Emani.
Dr. Dourdoufis was the initial discoverer of my ailments and he cardio-verted me in July and November when my heart wasn’t in rhythm. During the summer I became a patient of Boston Children’s Hospital Adult Congenital Heart Team. Doctors Shafer and Mau came up with the plans how to fix my heart and rhythm problems and Dr. Emani performed the open heart surgery. A huge shout out as well to the dozens of nurses who cared for me every day! Everyday heroes… each one of them.
Hats off to Boston Children’s Hospital as well. Won’t you please consider them when you choose your charitable donations this year? Walking the halls with the other kids (I was the biggest kid in residence during my stay) made me aware of how many children they care for and how sick some of those children are. They also never turn away patients for a lack of money. I saw many children from around our country and the world. So many sick kids! I know where my donations are going this year.
